Bareskrim Polri Takes Over Handling Of Cases Related To Rizieq Shihab Crowd

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri takes over the handling of all cases of suspected crowds and violations of health protocols (prokes) related to Rizieq Shihab. Take over the case so that the handling is more effective.

"Then it is in each region, so that the effectiveness of handling it is drawn to Bareskrim," said the Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Andi Rian, to reporters, Friday, December 18.

In cases of crowds and prokes violations, there are at least three locations. First, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport when a crowd of supporters of Rizieq Shihab gathered to welcome the FPI Grand Imam on November 10.

Allegations of violations of the prokes also occurred in Megamendung, Bogor. At that time, the mass of supporters of Rizieq gathered again just to witness the laying of the first new construction of the pesantren.

Finally, the crowd and alleged violations of the prokes occurred in Petamburan, Central Jakarta. This crowd was related to the Prophet's birthday and the wedding reception of Rizieq Shihab's daughter, Syarifah Najwa Shihab.

"Yes (it was taken over) because the crowd cases occurred in Jakarta, West Java and Banten. Considering that it covers all areas, it is united in Bareskrim," he said.

In the crowd case and health protocol in Petamburan, Jakarta, the police have named 6 suspects. One of them is Rizieq Shihab.

Rizieq was charged with Articles 160 and 216 of the Criminal Code. Article 160 of the Criminal Code concerning incitement to violence and not complying with the provisions of the law, with the threat of six years imprisonment or a fine of IDR 4,500.

Meanwhile, Article 216 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning obstructing provisions of the Law. The threat is imprisonment of four months and two weeks or a fine of Rp9,000.

Meanwhile, the other five suspects, Haris Ubaidillah as committee chairman, Ali bin Alwi Alatas (committee secretary), Maman Suryadi (FPI commander and security officer), Sobri Lubis (person in charge of the event), and Idrus (head of the event section).
