SIDRAP - Police have arrested 7 people regarding online prostitution in Sidenreng Rappang (Sidrap) Regency, South Sulawesi (Sulsel). Three of them are women.

The practice of online prostitution was dismantled by a joint team from the Sidrap Police on Thursday, December 17 evening. The location of the raid was on Jalan Ratulangi, Maritengngae.

"Evidence, 10 cellphones of various brands, condoms of various brands, 3 bottles of lubricant, Rp. 1,632,000, one black Honda Brio car," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Sidrap Police, AKP Benny Pornika, contacted by VOI, Friday, December 18. .

He explained that the disclosure of this online prostitution case was made after the police received information about the practice of prostitution in hotels. The police went undercover by contacting pimps.

"After it was agreed upon a service rate of Rp. 800 thousand, then we met the man Aw and then Aw took us to one of the hotel rooms where the woman was already in, and handed over the money," he said.

The pimps explained that they were tasked with finding customers / users of prostitution services through an instant messaging application by sending photos of women and making price quotes. Once agreed, then he directs service users to hotel rooms.

"The pimping suspects explained that they received wages from prostitution services of 20 percent of the agreed rate between themselves and the service users," he continued.

The practice of online prostitution is said to have been going on for one month. Transaction location at the same hotel.
