Vanessa Angel Comes Out Of Prison After Being Assimilated

JAKARTA - Artist Vanesza Adzania alias Vanessa Angel left the Class IIA Jakarta Women's Prison after obtaining assimilation rights from the Directorate General of Corrections (Dirjenpas), Friday, December 18.

"That the person concerned has the right to get assimilation on December 18, 2020," said the Head of Public Relations and Protocol at the Directorate General of Public Relations, Rika Aprianti, in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Friday, December 18.

It is known that Vanessa is a prisoner who has served a criminal period since November 18 for violating Article 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics. He was found guilty in the case of possession of the psychotropic type xanax.

Vanessa was sentenced to three months in prison and a fine of Rp. 10 million subsidiary to one month by the West Jakarta District Court based on decision letter number 1193 / Pid.Sus / 2020 / PN.Jkt.Brt. on November 5.

Rika said that the crime committed by Vanessa Angel was classified as a minor offense so that assimilation could be given at home.

Provisions regarding the provision of assimilation at home for prisoners who are convicted or the remaining sentence of up to six months is regulated by a Circular Letter of Plt. Director General of Corrections Number: PAS-516.PK.01.04.06 of 2020 concerning the Mechanism of Implementing Regulation of the Minister of Law and Human Rights Number 10 of 2020 concerning Requirements for Providing Assimilation and Integration Rights for Prisoners and Children in the Context of Preventing and Combating the Spread of COVID-19.

"The person concerned has fulfilled the administrative and substantive requirements (has served one half of the criminal period), so the person concerned is given the right to assimilate on December 18, 2020," said Rika.

Rika further said that Vanessa would be pure free on January 17, 2021.
