There Are Still Many Tickets For Christmas And New Year's Holidays, Just Looking At 10.1 Percent
JAKARTA - President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI Didiek Hartantyo revealed that the sale of train tickets for the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year (Nataru) holidays has sold 10.1 percent of the 5.56 million total tickets provided by KAI.
Didiek said the realization was made as of December 13, 2022, at 21.00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
"We have sold 563,478 seats or 10.1 percent of the capacity we have provided 5,562,836," he said in a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, Wednesday, December 14.
Didik said, KAI has opened train ticket sales during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays gradually starting November 7, 2022 or H-45 departures.
"For the Nataru transportation, ticket sales start from D-45, allowing customers to prepare plans to travel," he explained.
Didiek said that his party also anticipates an increase in passengers on certain days, namely December 23, 24, and 25.
He said, on that date KAI provided seats of more than the average of 311,000 seats per day.
He explained that as well as disrupting seats on December 30, 31, 2022, January 1 and January 6, 2023, 311,000 seats were also provided per day.
"We anticipate that by distributing the number of trips and the number of seats, so that the public interest in this potential passenger we can carry out as well as possible," he said.
Didiek said, to anticipate the surge in passengers, KAI also added 51 trips every day. Thus, the total train journey is 484 trains per day during the Nataru 2022-2023 holiday period.
"From 18 days, we anticipate the possibility of the peak, our prediction is that in one day there will be 264,000 passengers. So we anticipate the construction like this," he said.
