Grandpa 65 Years Went Missing During A Bath At The Jodoh River, Basarnas Ternate Intervened

MALUT - A 65-year-old grandfather was reported missing while bathing in Kali Jodoh Kao, North Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province (Malut), Wednesday, December 14.

The head of the Ternate Basarnas, Fathur Rahman, said that his party had dispatched a team to find the grandfather named Jonathan Kariang.

He explained that initially the grandfather and three of his friends set fire to fish beside the Gayok Village River at around 01.15 WIT.

At that time the victim felt hot. The grandfather went down to bathe in the river to take a shower. He disappeared shortly after asking his friend for help to get a match.

"When his friend returned the victim was gone, then his friend called the community to search around the river but the victim had not been found, then the local community contacted Basarnas to ask for search assistance," Fathur said in Ternate, Wednesday, December 14, as reported by Antara.

He said, on Wednesday, December 14 at around 10:00 WIT, Tobelo's SAR Post rescue team left for the scene to carry out a search for victims.

Previously, the search operation for the Ternate Basarnas managed to find narcotics (42), a resident of Morotai Island Regency who had been reported missing while riding a long boat in the waters of Situ Village, Tobelo, North Halmahera Regency.

The search for my parents paid off at 17.10 WIT after the family reported that the victim was adrift and stranded in the waters of Fitu Village, Tobelo.

He stated that the joint SAR team then checked and checked the whereabouts of the information and it was true that the victim was at his family's residence.
