Cooperation Technology With Qlue, Ministry Of Tourism And Development Of Sustainable Tourism
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/The Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Kemenparekraf/Baparekraf) collaborates with smart city developer startup Qlue, to develop sustainable tourism in Indonesia.
Menparekraf Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said Qlue has been known as a startup developing the smart city concept in Jakarta and is currently focusing on developing sustainable tourism.
"ThisQlue actually has a (named) Bioniqa product. So, this is very interesting," Sandiaga said in a written statement, Tuesday, December 13.
Sandiaga said, Bioniqa is a photobioreator tool based on the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligent (AI) that can use natural materials, such as micro-alga to reduce carbon dioxide and emit large amounts of oxygen into the atmosphere to improve air quality.
"This sustainable tourism management is very close to air quality and of course with this Bionica, we can quickly improve air quality in tourist destinations (Indonesia)," he explained.
Meanwhile, the CEO and Co-Founder of Qlue Rama Aditya explained that Bioniqa, which functions to absorb carbon dioxide in the air, can also be used for carbon offsetting, where carbon offsets on one Bioniqa tool are equivalent to planting 100 banyan trees.
"So, actually this can be linked to carbon footprint, it can be offset with this tool," he said.
Rama said this tool can be installed indoors and outdoors because a number of buildings in big cities, especially in Jakarta, contribute 36 percent of carbon emissions in urban areas.
"If installed indoors, (Bioniqa) can take advantage of artificial sunlight and if it is outdoors this tool will automatically take advantage of sunlight for its alga photosynthesis," he said.
