Positive For COVID-19, James Cameron Absen Premiere Avatar: The Way Of Water
JAKARTA - Director James Cameron missed the premiere of his latest film, Avatar: The Way of Water. This is because he was confirmed positive for COVID-19 after returning from Japan.
"I'm at LA (Los Angeles), just returned from Tokyo and I had COVID on the plane so I'm in isolation and I can't go to my own premiere tonight," James Cameron told Deadline.
He regretted that because of COVID, he could not meet the people he promised. Disney also said James Cameron's condition was fine.
"I met a lot of people and when we met, I always said 'See you at the premiere', I don't think that's the case," he said.
"James Cameron has COVID but is in good condition," Disney said.
Furthermore, Disney explained that the results were obtained while conducting routine tests. He will conduct virtual interviews and not be present at the premiere.
"He (Cameron) tested positive as part of the routine test. He will fulfill a virtual interview but is not present at the premiere," concluded Disney.
James Cameron attended the Avatar premiere: The Way of Water on Tuesday, December 6. It is not yet known when Cameron will take part in the promotional series for the Avatar sequel.
Avatar: The Way of Water tells the story of Jake target who lives with his family on Pandora. Once upon a time, Jake had to work with Neytiri and the Navi army to guard their planet.
On the other hand, James Cameron also received a nomination for Avatar: The Way of Water at Golden Globes 2023. Avatar: The Way of Water will release on December 14, 2022 in Indonesian cinemas.
