JAKARTA - Yusuf Mansur or Jam'an Nurkhatib Mansur. Yusuf Mansur, a preacher, author of a book who recently likes giving lessons about stocks to beginners, is now lying sick due to being exposed to COVID-19.

Yusuf Mansur's condition is gradually getting better even though COVID-19 is still stuck in his body. Yusuf, whose birthday is right today, 19 December 1978, is still being treated intensively in the hospital.

The leader of the Darul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School revealed that he still had difficulty breathing and made it difficult for him to recite the Koran. Yusuf also admitted that it was difficult to lie on his stomach with frequent shortness of breath and had a mild cough.

Yusuf said, the purpose of telling his current condition was none other than so that we did not take COVID-19 lightly. He asked everyone to take care of themselves and adhere to health protocols.

"Take care of Covid, huh. Fight. If it's up to the max, that's just a matter of tawakkal. God is still not choosy. But at least, we don't kill ourselves,"

The name Ustaz Yusuf Mansur or (UYM) has recently become increasingly popular as a reference for novice investors in choosing potential stocks. Yusuf Mansur likes to educate on capital market investments through his Instagram account @yusufmansurnew. Its sizeable congregation base also keeps recommended shares flying.

Most recently, on December 15, Yusuf Mansur had mentioned the shares of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) on his personal Instagram. In his upload, Yusuf said, Telkom is one of the state-owned companies that has served the country.

With Mansurmology, as YM wrote, Telkom is considered to be one of the leading and highest SOEs in terms of serving the lives of many people. As if affected by a domino effect, the increase in Telkom's share price occurred after Yusuf Mansur's upload appeared.

Before the afternoon break, Telkom's shares even flew to the highest level at Rp3,490 per share. No less than 310.90 million Telkom shares are traded with a frequency of 43,854 times. The daily transaction value of Telkom's shares as of December 15 was recorded at Rp1.06 trillion.

Yusuf also reminded again that Indonesia had lost a telecommunications company which at that time was sold for Rp. 13 trillion. In addition, he also asked the public to help and love BUMN companies.

Shares of PT Kimia Farma Tbk. (KAEF) also shot nearly 25 percent to the position of IDR 4,430 in trading Monday, December 7. The increase continued on Tuesday, December 8, although it was not as high as the previous day, to a price of IDR 4,810.

The increase in the share price of pharmaceutical SOEs was caused by positive sentiment for the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine from Sinovac Biotech Ltd, a company from China. As a subsidiary of PT Bio Farma (Persero), KAEF is one of the distributors of vaccines to be shipped throughout Indonesia.

This sentiment was emphasized by Yusuf since several days before the cargo containing 1.2 million doses of the vaccine arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Sunday, December 6.

Yusuf advised investors to protect the company's share ownership. However, if investors intend to hold KAEF shares with the intention of owning them, he considers it a good choice. Even though he recommended KAEF, Yusuf also reminded investors or traders to start with good intentions such as giving alms.

Yusuf Mansur, whose real name is Jam'an Nurkhatib Mansur, was born in Jakarta, December 19, 1976. He is a preacher, book writer, and entrepreneur from Betawi, as well as the head of the Daarul Quran Ketapang Islamic boarding school, Cipondoh, Cikarang Tangerang and the Wisata Hati recitation.

The son of the Abdurrahman Mimbar and Humrifiah couple graduated from Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Chairiyah Mansuriyah, Jembatan Lima, Tambora, Madrasah Tsanawiyah, Chairiyah Mansuriyah, Jembatan Lima, Tambora, and Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Grogol, West Jakarta.

He continued his undergraduate education, at the Faculty of Law, Shari'ah Department at IAIN Syarif Hidayatullah, Jakarta, but did not get a bachelor's degree. Yusuf Mansur is married to Siti Maemunah, and has children named Wirda Salamah Ulya, Qumii Rahmatul Qulub, Muhammad Kunn Syafii, Muhammad Yusuf Al Haafidz and Aisyah Humairoh Hafidzoh.

Apart from being a preacher, Yusuf is also a businessman, starting from joint investments in red and white cooperatives and electronic money. But not everything went smoothly, Yusuf had stumbled over a licensing problem and filed a complaint with the Police.

In 1996, Ustaz Yusuf was involved in the informatics business. But unfortunately, his business ended up in debt and put him in detention for 2 months, and the same thing happened again in 1998.

It was while in prison that he discovered the wisdom of alms. After leaving prison, he tried to start his business back from scratch by selling ice at the Kali Deres terminal.

Yusuf Mansyur's life finally began to change when he met a policeman who introduced him to an NGO. It was during his work at the NGO that he then made a book entitled Wisata Hati Seeking God who is Lost.

Then Yusuf Mansur was often invited to review the book. From there, invitations to lecture began to approach him until now.

Now that Yusuf's business continues to expand, the most recent and controversial one is, PayTren. The top-up service was temporarily suspended by Bank Indonesia (BI) in September 2017.
