Who Is The Opponent Who Is Meant By The US Coach, Gio Reyna Or McKennie?
JAKARTA - United States national team coach Gregg Berhalter said there were players who opposed during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and were almost sent home. Fans then speculated about who the player was.
Fans on Twitter quickly pointed out names like Gio Reyna and Weston McKennie as possible players Berhalter might talk about.
Reyna (20) is a young star who barely gets enough playing time at the World Cup despite being one of the best talent in the team.
He played for Borussia Dortmund and could make a difference for Stars & Stripes at the start of the competition.
According to an anonymous source of The Athletic, Reyna is exactly what Berhalter talked about. The young player reportedly showed no energy in training sessions ahead of the opening match of the World Cup against Wales.

McKennie, 24, is also a common name among those who speculate on social media, especially as she previously apologized to her team-mates, as Berhalter said.
"But another thing we told him is, you have to apologize to the group, but it has to say why you apologized," Berhalter was quoted as saying by Marca.
"It has to go deeper than just 'Friends, I'm sorry.' And I'm preparing leadership groups with this. I said, 'Okay, this guy will apologize to you as a group, to the whole team.'
"And what's fantastic in all of this is that after he apologized, they stood up one by one and said, 'Look, it's not good enough, you haven't met our teammates' expectations and we want to do it. See change.' They really mastered the process. And since that day there has been no problem with this player."
McKennie, who last year missed World Cup qualifiers for violating the team's COVID-19 policy, publicly apologized to USMNT. Could this be Halter?
One thing that the irony of the head coach's statement is to set an example of leadership. However, many people on Twitter say that Berhalter, as a leader, should never divulge such information.
