Dismissal of Supreme Court Justice Gazalba Saleh Awaits a Presidential Decree

JAKARTA - Secretary of the Supreme Court (MA) Hasbi Hasan said the dismissal of Supreme Court Justice Gazalba Saleh was still awaiting President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) decision. The proposal has been submitted, but it hasn't been tapped yet.

"He has been proposed (to be stopped, ed). But waiting for the President, there may be another program," Hasbi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, Monday, December 12.

Meanwhile, Hasbi is not sure about the dismissal of the non-active Supreme Court Justice Sudrajad Dimyati. However, he said Sudrajad had been temporarily dismissed.

Supreme Court Justice Gazalba Saleh has been detained by the KPK after being named a suspect on November 28. He is suspected of being involved in allegations of bribery in handling cases at the Supreme Court.

Apart from Gazalba, the KPK has also named 12 other people as suspects. They are Judicial Judge Prasetio Nugroho and Gazalba's staff member, Redhy Novarisza.

While the other 10 people named as suspects are the non-active Supreme Court Justice Sudrajad Dimyati, the Judicial Judge or substitute clerk, Elly Tri Pangestu (ETP); two state civil servants (ASN) in the MA Kepenteraanan, Desy Yustria (DY) and Muhajir Habibie (MH); as well as two ASNs in MA, Nurmanto Akmal (NA), and Albasri (AB).

Next, lawyers Yosep Parera (YP) and Eko Suparno (ES) as well as Intidana Heryanto Tanaka (HT) Savings and Loans Cooperative Debtors, and Savings and Loans Cooperative Debtors Ivan Dwi Kusuma Sujanto (IDKS).
