Sido Muncul Gives Free Cataract Operation Assistance To 150 Patients In Bandung

JAKARTA - PT Sido Muncul Herbal and Pharmaceutical Industry Tbk held a social service by helping 150 catatric sufferers carry out free operations. This time, Sido Muncul carried out this activity at Bhayangkara TK II Sartika Asih Hospital, Bandung, West Java, on Thursday 8 December 2022.

During this activity, Sido Muncul collaborated with the SPBK of the Central Indonesian Eye Specialist Association (Perdami) as health workers who will handle 150 dwarf sufferers. The operation was carried out for two days, namely 8-9 December 2022.

Symbolically, the assistance was handed over by the Director of Sido Muncul Irwan Hidayat to Karumkit Bhayangkara TK II Sartika Asih Bandung Kombes Pol. dr. Hj. S. N. Imanta Tarigan, SpPk, witnessed by Perdami Representative dr. Maulia Fitra Purnama, SpM and dr. Widya Anandita, SpM.

Irwan said that the activity, which is also part of the series of Anniversary of Bhayangkara TK II Sartika Asih Hospital, is an activity that was delayed by two years due to the pandemic in 2020.

Patients who will receive eye cataract surgery will undergo a screening process before finally being operated. Irwan hopes that after receiving free surgery, people with katrak can return to their activities.

Furthermore, Irwan said that the implementation of the Free Cataract Operation was Sido Muncul's commitment to improve public health, especially in the vision section. It is known, since 2011 until now, Sido Muncul has provided operational assistance for more than 55,000 eyes throughout Indonesia and is targeting to help 12,000 people with cataracts next year.

In addition to Free Cataract Operations, Irwan added that his party will continue to be committed to increasing awareness of the community. In addition to dwarfs, Sido Muncul also pays attention to the treatment of cleft lip and stunting handling.

"Next year (free operating activities) will be 12,000, (treatment assistance) 4,000 cleft lip, stunting is long term, so we will enter the regions and help children grow," said Irwan, quoted on Sunday, December 11.
