Commission VI Of The House Of Representatives Is Sure That The Becakayu Toll Road Can Be A Congestion Solution For Jakarta
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission VI Aria Bima believes that the Becakayu Toll Road (Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu) can be a solution in dealing with congestion in the Kalimalang area and the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. Therefore, Aria Bima requested that PT Waskita Karya (Persero) immediately complete the construction of the Becakayu Toll Road project this month. "Based on the results of this specific visit, it is hoped that the Becakayu Toll Road will be able to connect road access plans that can increase the traffic volume which is almost doubled. We hope that in December it will be completed," Aria said in an official statement, Sunday, December 11. Not only unraveling congestion, said Aria Bima, another benefit that has been obtained is that it can be an alternative toll road user, especially from Bekasi to Tanjung Priok with a much shorter travel time. In addition to the benefits in the transportation sector, Aria Bima also sees the potential benefits obtained from the Becakayu Toll Road revenue can replace other traffic lane income losses.
"I am sure that the Becakayu Toll Road Section 2B Marga Jaya-Tambun can strengthen traffic and we hope that it will reduce several things related to losses. So that later Waskita Karya can build other toll roads, which are indeed government strategic projects," he explained. Meanwhile, Waskita Karya President Director, Destiawan Soewardjono said that based on research taken by his party, the Becakayu Toll Road contributed quite a lot. "From what we studied, the Becakayu Toll Road can be passed by around 27,000 - 30,000 vehicles per day," said Destiawan. For your information, PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk took over the construction of the Becakayu Toll Road in 2015 and obtained state capital participation (PMN) so that development can continue.
