Assistance For Victims Of Earthquakes Of Cianjur Continues To Come From Various Regions
BANTUL - The Bantul Regency Government, Yogyakarta Special Region, together with the local Disaster Risk Reduction Forum (FPRB) have sent four trucks carrying aid goods for earthquake victims in Cianjur, West Java.
Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih in a written statement from the Regency Government Public Relations in Bantul, as quoted from Antara, said that four trucks carried goods such as carpentry equipment, foodstuffs, baby equipment, school equipment, various house equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
"The aid items sent have been adjusted to the needs in the field," he said.
Previously, the Cianjur FPRB Bantul Earthquake Victim Care Post sent a team of three people to conduct an assessment at the disaster site, followed by the deployment of PMI members to help with medical treatment for refugees.
From this assessment, the Bantul FPRB then opened the stage of raising donations from 2-6 December, with funds collected of Rp. 384.3 million. The Bantul FPRB was also assisted by the Bantul Social Service, as well as the Pangkalan Menjangan Kopassus 2 Group, Surakarta.
The Regent said that his party together with the Regency Government will travel to Cianjur on December 23 to hand over donations raised from the state civil apparatus (ASN) within the Bantul Regency Government.
"Hopefully the disaster recovery in Cianjur can run faster," he said.
He said that in a disaster-affected condition, of course, the local government experienced limitations, both in terms of budget and human resources, as experienced by Bantul due to the 2006 earthquake.
"Therefore, we all need to intervene, so that the recovery of the victims of the earthquake is not slow," said Abdul Halim.
