French President Emmanuel Macron Tests Positive For COVID-19

JAKARTA - French President Emmanuel Macron tested positive for COVID-19. The announcement was made officially by the French Presidential Office on Thursday, 17 December.

"The President of the Republic has been diagnosed positive for COVID-19 today. The diagnosis came out based on a PCR test that was carried out at the onset of the first symptoms," the Office of the President wrote in a statement.

Not many statements have been revealed. But Macron's office said the president would undergo isolation for the next seven days.

Quoting Github.com, France has now recorded 2.41 million cases. That number increased by 17,615 in the last 14 days.

France recorded a cure rate of 180 thousand. The death toll from COVID-19 in France reached 59,361. That number has increased by 289 in the last 14 days.
