Ban Warehouse And Oli In Palmerah Burns, Capai Loss Of IDR 1 Billion
JAKARTA - Dealer Honda Palmerah Motor Cakung and workshop Berlian Motor located on Jalan Raya Bekasi Km 22, West Cakung Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta, were scorched by fire.
Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman said the fire was thought to have originated from the 3rd floor of the building.
"The object that caught fire was a warehouse for piles of tires, motorbikes and oil. The area of the object that caught fire was about 180 square meters," said Gatot when confirmed by VOI, Friday, December 9.
As a result of the fire, the dealer owner named Philip Tan (32) is estimated to have suffered a loss of Rp. 1 billion.
"The cause of the fire is suspected to be an electrical short circuit. Luckily there were no casualties or injuries from this fire," he said.
Meanwhile, from Syarif's statement, one of the eyewitnesses said the fire was discovered by a small child who saw smoke on the 3rd floor.
"In the tire warehouse there was smoke. About 300 tires, 20 motorbikes and 10 boxes of oil were there. Suddenly the fire in the warehouse grew bigger and burned the entire room on the 3rd floor," he said.
The fire was successfully extinguished by 16 cars with 80 firefighters. Officers struggled to extinguish the fire since 13:59 WIB. The fire was extinguished at around 16.10 WIB.
