JAKARTA - The Banyumas Police Satreskrim Resmob Unit together with the Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Purwokerto Police, Banyumas Police, succeeded in uncovering a case of alleged theft of a laptop that occurred at a boarding house in the Karangwangkal area, Purwokerto Utara District.

"We have secured the perpetrator with the initials SES (31), a resident of Purwokerto Wetan Village who committed the theft of a laptop", said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Banyumas Police, Kompol Agus Supriadi S, in a written statement, Thursday, December 8.

He also said that the suspect's theft was carried out on Saturday, December 3, at around 21.00 WIB, when the victim was watching the ball with his friend. At that time the victim did not lock his room.

But after the victim returned to the room to take the money, he saw the room situation was quite messy, and after checking, the laptop that was placed on the table turned out to be gone.

"So the modus operandi was that the perpetrator entered the boarding house which was unlocked and took the laptop that was on the victim's desk," said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit.

Furthermore, on Sunday at 10.00 WIB, the victim reported the incident to the North Purwokerto Police with a loss of Rp. 9 million.

Following up on the report, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Purwokerto Police coordinated with the Banyumas Police Criminal Investigation Unit and jointly conducted further investigations.

"After profiling and investigating, on Sunday, December 4, 2022, the team managed to secure the perpetrator at a mini market in front of Gor Satria Purwokerto", said the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit.

From the arrest, officers confiscated evidence in the form of 1 (one) silver Thinkbook brand laptop and 1 (one) unit of Yamaha Mio motorcycle.

"The perpetrator has now been secured at the Banyumas Police Criminal Investigation Unit Headquarters to undergo further examination and legal proceedings", concluded the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit.
