Canada Will Send Its First Astronaut To The Moon In 2023

JAKARTA - For the first time, the Canadian government will send its astronauts to the moon in 2023. This was revealed directly by the Canadian Minister of Innovation, Navdeep Bains, who planned the first Canadian to participate in the US Mission.

Launched by Reuters on Thursday, December 17, Navdeep announced this after he signed an official agreement with the government of the United States (US). During the mission, a group of 18 astronauts will go to the moon under NASA's Artemis program. A program in which Canada has taken part.

Later, Artemis will be designed to send several missions to the moon. The Canadian astronaut, who has not been named, will be taking part in the second trip. That is, the trip is scheduled to fly around the moon in a 10-day journey in 2023.

"All eyes will look to the sky when one of our astronauts becomes the first Canadian to travel around the moon," Navdeep said at a news conference.

Canada and the US have previously had a long history of working together in outer space. Navdeep also revealed that a Canadian astronaut would one day fly to the Moon Gate, an outpost NASA plans to build in the next decade.

Meanwhile, Canada itself appears to have built the Canadarm robotic arm that was initially installed on several US shuttles. As well as several international space stations. As a result, the two countries have the same goal, namely to put astronauts back on the moon by 2023.
