End Of Year In Jakarta I Will Not Be Soon Again, Acting Heru Will Hold A Anniversary Of The Anniversary
JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono said the DKI Provincial Government will again hold the 2023 New Year celebrations on December 31.
Heru revealed that this New Year's party is being prepared by the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf). Later, there will be celebrations at a number of locations in Jakarta.
"DKI's preparation has been at several points since the Disparekraf was prepared. One of them is at TMII, then at the HI Roundabout there is," Heru said when met in East Jakarta, Wednesday, December 7.
Last year, Jakarta was made deserted in the celebration of the 2022 New Year. Former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan banned the 2021 Christmas and 2022 New Year celebrations with crowds in open or closed places from December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2022.
Restrictions on community activities such as entertainment events are implemented, including activities in shopping centers. Malls and other crowded places are also limited to 22.00 WIB on New Year's Eve.
If the activity has passed the time limit, joint personnel will carry out "cleaning". People are not allowed to do activities in public spaces. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government together with the TNI-Polri implemented Crowd Free Night or closed on a number of roads in the capital city on New Year's Eve 2022.
The ban on Christmas and New Year's celebration parties was carried out to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Moreover, at that time, the new Omicron variant of COVID-19 entered Indonesia.
Meanwhile, this year, Jakarta is implementing PPKM Level 1 to January 9, 2023. Crowd activities such as music concerts have also been allowed.
However, Deputy Governor for Culture and Tourism DKI Marullah Matali admitted that the DKI Provincial Government is still waiting for the central government's decision regarding policy direction and anticipation of the euphoria of Christmas and New Year celebrations that will be carried out by the public.
"In the citizens' euphoria, it has been 2 years since they have not carried out activities, both religious and cultural activities," said Marullah on Monday, December 5.
"But we will still see the consideration that the PPKM will take effect from December 20 to January 2, December 20, 2022, to January 2, 2023," he continued.
