What Komnas HAM Obtained In Investigating The Death Of FPI Special Troops

JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) is also investigating the death of six special FPI troops guarding Rizieq Shihab on the Jakarta-Cikampek KM 50 toll road. Jasa Marga to high-ranking Polri officials have been asked for information in the context of the investigation.

Jasa Marga's party being questioned was none other than the President Director, Subakti Syukur. This examination is also related to CCTV cameras which are said not to record around the location.

Meanwhile, senior Police officers who were questioned were the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Fadil Imran. This examination is to explore various matters related to the chronology of the case.

Then, Komnas HAM also examined Jasa Marga, which directly handles the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road. In fact, a number of evidences in the form of CCTV footage were also taken to be explored.

"The Komnas HAM investigation team today, Wednesday, December 16, 2020, followed up with Jasa Marga's Jakarta-Cikampek branch by taking information and some evidence," said the Head of the Investigation Team, Choirul Anam in his statement, Thursday, December 16.

In addition, the Komnas HAM investigation team also went directly to the scene. The goal is to find new clues related to the case and ensure that what is said is true.

Because, from the information that has been collected at this time, it is said that several CCTV cameras installed around the scene of the incident did not function or died.

"The team has also conducted direct checks in the field. To follow up on the information from Jasa Marga, to confirm, see directly and later as material for analysis by the investigating team," said Choirul.

The investigation team also plans to examine the doctor who autopsy the six bodies of Rizieq Shihab's special army in the near future. To make it happen, Komnas HAM has written to the Head of Criminal and Criminal Investigation Police, Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo, regarding the permit.

Examination of the autopsy doctor, aims to deepen several things related to procedures and others. So, the results of the examination can explain all things that were previously considered odd.

"The summons were addressed to the doctor who performed the autopsy on the bodies of six people (FPI members, red). It is important for the team to get additional information in order to deepen both the procedure, process and substance of the autopsy being carried out," he said.

Komnas HAM hopes that this call will be fulfilled by the police. This is in accordance with the commitment to openness previously conveyed by the Head of Metro Jaya Police Inspector General Fadil Imran after conducting an investigation some time ago.

"We hope that the commitment to openness that has been conveyed will be implemented well," he said.

Although he did not mention the question of the request submitted by Komnas HAM, Komjen Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that he was ready to provide information if it was needed. This is done so that cases that cause polemics can be resolved immediately.

"Ready (to provide information), if Komnas HAM is needed," said Komnas HAM.

His readiness to undergo examination, Listyo continued, was in line with the National Police's commitment to uncover this case in a professional, transparent and objective manner. "Because from the start we wanted transparent investigations," said Sigit.

Previously, 6 members of the Special Laskar guarding Rizieq Shihab were shot dead by the police. They were given strict action for attacking police officers.

This firm action by the police began with a police investigation regarding the schedule for examining Rizieq Shihab. This is because the police received information that there would be a mass mobilization.

But in the process of investigating by following Rizieq's movement, members of the Polda Metro Jaya were attacked.

According to the police, the attack took place on the Jakarta-Cikampek KM 50 toll road. The attack was started with a special army car which stopped the police car.

Then, about 10 of the special laskar attacked the members' cars using firearms (senpi) and sharp weapons (sajam). Until finally the police returned the shots.

As a result, six people died at the location. Meanwhile, four other troops fled.
