BPBD Injapan 1 Sukabumi Landslides Affected In Refugees Until Homes Improved

JABAR - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) evacuated a family affected by a landslide in Situawi Village, Karangtengah Village, Gunungpuyuh District, Sukabumi City.

According to Sukabumi City BPBD Chief Executive Imran Wardhani, one family consists of nine people whose houses were affected by landslides and have been taken to the temporary evacuation site of the Sukabumi City BPBD.

"The victim's house in RT 03 RW 07 Karangtengah Village, Gunungpuyuh District, the condition of the damage was quite severe due to being hit by a landslide on Monday, December 5 evening," he said in Sukabumi, West Java, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, December 6.

He added that the families whose houses were damaged by the landslide consisted of three adults, two teenagers, two children, and two babies.

Families whose houses were affected by landslides are now occupying temporary evacuation sites or the Sukabumi City BPBD test.

"They will live in this BPBD test until they get a decent house or an old house that has been repaired and habitable," he said.

The Sukabumi City BPBD has provided emergency assistance to families whose houses were damaged by landslides.

Imran said that the landslide that occurred in Situawi Village did not cause people to be injured or die.

He appealed to residents to be aware of the possibility of natural disasters during extreme weather conditions because according to the forecast by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) heavy rains have the potential to flush Sukabumi City from Tuesday afternoon to night.

He also reminded residents to clean waterways from garbage so that water flow is not clogged and causes flooding when it rains heavily.
