Anies Ensures Jakarta Food Stock And Prices Are Controlled Towards Christmas And New Year
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan ensures that food stocks and prices in Jakarta remain safe ahead of Christmas and New Year 2021.
This was conveyed by Anies after receiving a report during a meeting with the Jakarta Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID). Anies led a virtual meeting with the DKI Provincial Government at City Hall.
"From the report, God willing, it is safe. In the future, we will ensure that the first week of January there will be no interruptions in supply, at the same time we must immediately prepare a work program for 2021 with realistic targets," Anies said in his statement, Wednesday, December 16.
Based on reports received by Anies, inflation in Jakarta was relatively low until November 2020, namely 1.32 percent (ytd), or on an annual basis at 1.66 percent (yoy).
With this achievement, at the end of 2020 Jakarta inflation is estimated to be lower than last year's achievement (3.23 percent yoy), and is estimated to be below the national inflation target range of 3 percent.
Therefore, said Anies, the DKI TPID will continue to oversee the adequacy and smooth operation of strategic food supplies, as well as support efforts to restore the economy of Jakarta.
"We are also optimistic that Jakarta will recover more quickly because our infrastructure and readiness are better. In the future, we will not only control prices, but ensure the purchasing power of the community is maintained," said Anies.
