Elon Musk's Suspicious Personnel On Twitter Provides Forference To Brazil's Election Left Winged Candidates
Twitter owner Elon Musk said on Saturday, December 3 that he thought "possibly" personnel at the social media company had given preference to left-wing candidates during this year's Brazilian election. But he couldn't provide any evidence.
Musk completed his Twitter acquisition on October 27, just days before the second round of the Brazilian presidential election, when far-right incumbent Jair Bolsonaro was defeated by Luiz Inacio CLA da Silva's left wing.
"I've seen a lot of tweets about Brazil's recent elections," Musk wrote on Twitter when asked by users about the election that the company's previous management might "handle".
"If the tweet was accurate, perhaps Twitter personnel would prefer left-wing candidates," the billionaire added.
Bolsonaro earlier this year hosted Musk at a meeting in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, when he called the US billionaire's takeover of Twitter "a breath of hope" and dubbed it a "gend of freedom".
Both CLA and Bolsonaro used a lot of Twitter during their campaign. Some of Bolsonaro's allies - including the candidates with the most votes for the lower house of Congress, Nikolas Ferreira - their accounts were suspended on court orders after the second round for questioning election results.
