A 78-year-old House In Tasikmalaya Damaged By A Garut Earthquake, The City Government Gives Aid To Improve Rp. 14 Million
JABAR - The Tasikmalaya City Government repaired the damaged house belonging to an elderly woman (elderly) due to an earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 6.1 centered in Garut Regency.
"This is proof of our quick response in order to deal with disasters in the community, thanks to BJB. We just'support'. We must be ready to help each other in the community," said Head of the Tasikmalaya City Government Government, Wawan Gunawan during the handover ceremony for earthquake-affected victims in Gunung Karikil Village, Tuguraja Village, Cihideung District, Tasikmalaya City, Monday 5 December.
He said that the Tasikmalaya City Government had previously collected data and directly reviewed the areas affected by the Garut earthquake that occurred on Saturday, December 3 afternoon.
Reports in the field, he said, one house occupied by an elderly person named Isah (78) on the roof collapsed. In that incident, Islah survived and was evacuated to another resident's house.
He conveyed that the damage had made the local government collaborate with BJB and also the community to try to help rebuild the damaged houses.
"On behalf of the city government, we claim to be proud of the beautiful form of collaboration with BJB and all elements of society," said Wawan, quoted by Antara.
Head of the BJB Tasikmalaya Branch, Anet Yulisthian, said that his party received information about houses damaged by the earthquake, then coordinated with the Mayor of Tasikmalaya to help relieve earthquake victims.
He conveyed that the assistance provided by BJB was in accordance with the budget plan (RAB) of Rp. 14 million which was distributed in the form of building materials to repair roofs of houses such as cement, wood, tiles, and others.
"According to the proposed RAB, we will give Rp. 14 million in the form of building materials," said Anet.
He added that the implementation of the construction of the elderly house was complete and it was hoped that the victim would return to the house safely and comfortably.
"God willing, until it is finished. Currently (worked) so that this mother's house is quickly completed and occupied again," he said.
Previously, Acting Mayor of Tasikmalaya Cheka Virgowansyah together with the Head of BPBD of Tasikmalaya City, Ucu Anwar, visited the houses affected by the earthquake, then decided to immediately get housing assistance.
An earthquake with an epicenter in Garut on Saturday, December 3, was felt in a number of areas, including in Cianjur, which was rocked by the same earthquake, Tasikmalaya, Bandung and other areas.
