Surabaya SAR Office Prepare 3 Rescue Teams On Mount Semeru
SURABAYA - The Surabaya Search and Rescue Office (SAR) has alerted three rescue teams at locations affected by the avalanche of hot clouds (APG) Mount Semeru, Lumajang Regency, East Java, Sunday, December 4.Head of the Surabaya SAR Office Hari Adi Purnomo explained that a rescue team from the Jember SAR Post, East Java, had been dispatched to the Mount Semeru area in Lumajang, Sunday afternoon at around 12.30 WIB."A team of 10 rescuers from the Jember SAR Post and potential SAR from the Rescue Siluman, as well as Biting Rescue, with personnel trucks and D-Max rescue vehicles we have already dispatched, as an effort to prepare for the eruption of natural disasters accompanied by the Mount Semeru APG," Hari said in Surabaya as reported by Antara.Two other rescue teams, continued Hari, followed the departure from the Surabaya SAR Office to the location affected by the Semeru APG disaster for personnel assistance and main equipment (defense equipment).Hari said the two rescue teams led by the Head of Operations and Alert Section of the Surabaya SAR Office consisted of 15 rescuers."The focus of today's operation plan is to carry out the evacuation of residents to safe areas and coordinate with the Regional Disaster Management Agency or BPBD Lumajang, as well as the joint SAR team who are already at the location," he said.According to him, from the results of coordination with the Lumajang BPBD Operations Control Center (Pusdalops), on December 4, 2022, the eruption accompanied by APG continued until Sunday afternoon."The height of the eruption column was not observed.
