Wayne Rooney Praises Tyson Fury: He Should Be A British Knight

JAKARTA - British boxer Tyson Fury defended the WBC heavyweight title, Sunday, December 4, WIB. He beat compatriot Derek Chisora.

The fight between the two took place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Fury overthrew his opponent in the 10th round.

Many famous people witnessed Fury's victory. One of them is DC United coach who is also a former England national team player, Wayne Rooney.

After the fight, Rooney did not hesitate to praise Fury. He even called the boxer worthy of his title.

"He's the best, which we've seen for a long time. I don't think anyone will beat him," Rooney told talkSPORT, Sunday, December 4.

"I think he's really a legend, for what he's doing in boxing. He's entertaining," he continued.

The former Manchester United player said Fury's skills were extraordinary. He also called the mentality of the 34-year-old boxer extraordinary.

"If I'm honest, I think he should be named a Knight. He won titles overseas. He keeps them overseas," Rooney said.

Not long ago, King Charles III gave the honorary title Order of the British Empire (MBE) to Emma Raducanu for her achievements in the world of tennis. Not impossible, Tyson Fury will get the same thing after making England proud on the boxing scene.
