Speaking Ofprinciples From Referee Padilla, Pacquiao: That's His Problem, Not Me!

JAKARTA - Manny Pacquiao was accused of cheating by the referee who led his fight. This happened when he faced Nedal Hussein in 2000.

Carlos Padilla, who was the referee in the match, made a statement that he deliberately supported Pacquiao in the fight by giving him more time to recover from knockout.

This was done by Padilla, who both came from Thailand because he felt that many Filipinos were watching the fight. So he didn't want Pacquiao to swallow the shame of losing.

Pernyataan ini menimbulkan reaksi dari Pacquiao, dengan keras ia menyatakan bahwa apa yang disebut Padilla adalah kebohongan.

This legendary boxer called it done by the referee because of admiration for him. Meanwhile, Pacquiao considered the vacant statement to be only the referee's problem, not himself.

"I'm not cheating. He (Padilla) may like me because he fights at home," Pacquiao told TV Patrol quoted by Marca on Sunday, December 4.

"I'm a boxer. I'm just doing my job in the ring. About that, (the scam) is his problem, not my problem," he said.

Thanks to the victory in the fight, Pacquiao was then able to defend his bantamweight title twice. The controversial moment was also considered the key to Pacquiao's brilliant career.

He also managed to change the category and face super bantamweight champion Lehlo Ledwaba in 2001. From that fight Pacquiao's name soared into the international realm.

Pacquiao established himself in boxing as the only winner of twelve world titles in eight different categories. Throughout his career he became champion in flying classes, super bantam classes, fur classes, super, lightweight, super lightweight, welterweight, and super welterweight.
