53,920 People Of Bangka Belitung Have Accepted The COVID-19 Vaccine For Strengthening Dossers
TANJUNG PANDAN - The Belitung District Health Office, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, noted that 53,920 residents in the area had received booster doses of COVID-19 vaccination to anticipate the transmission of the disease, which was reported to have spread again.
"The number of people who have received booster doses of vaccine is 53,920 people or 42.34 percent," said Acting Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Sri Agustini as quoted by Antara, Sunday, December 4.
He said the population over the age of six in the area who had received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination was 147,141 people (91.14 percent) and the second dose was 133,332 people (82.59 percent).
He said the number of health workers who had received booster doses of vaccination was 1,329 people (100.38 percent), the elderly 4,641 people (34.40 percent), public service officers 2,982 (25.47 percent), and the general public and vulnerable 44,968 (44.60 percent).
"We continue to motivate the public so that when it has arrived in time to vaccinate booster doses to immediately visit health facilities and available vaccination booths," he said.
He added that the Belitung Regency Health Office together with the COVID-19 Vaccination Task Force in the area continued to strive to increase vaccination achievements in order to form group immunity from COVID-19 transmission.
He said, vaccination service innovations continue to be carried out in order to attract people to vaccinate, such as opening vaccination outlets in public places and tourist destinations.
He appealed to people who have not received the COVID-19 vaccination to immediately follow the vaccination program.
"It is important to carry out vaccinations other than to form immunity and reduce the risk of death from COVID-19 but play a role in helping the government in accelerating the end of the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
