The 2022 World Cup EndsASTER For Gabriel Jesus And Alex Telles
JAKARTA - Two Brazilian national team players, Gabriel Jesus and Alex Telles, are certain to no longer play in the remainder of Qatar's 2022 World Cup. Both suffered injuries that forced the two to end the 2022 World Cup early.
Both players suffered a right knee injury as Brazil met Cameroon in the final group stage match. After undergoing an MRI scan on Saturday, December 3, morning, the injuries of both will take a long time to recover.
In a statement, the Brazilian Football Association (CBF) said it was "impromable" for them to participate further in the football grand party in Qatar.
"Alex Telles and Gabriel Jesus underwent tests on Saturday morning accompanied by Brazilian team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar and the MRI results on their right knee confirmed the injury rate and the impossibility of timely recovery to participate in the FIFA Qatar 2022 World Cup," CBF said in a statement.
It has not been decided whether the Arsenal and Sevilla players will remain Qatar or return to their respective clubs for treatment.
Jesus and Telles added to the list of injured Brazilian players at the 2022 World Cup. Previously, Neymar had missed the last two games in Group G due to an ankle ligament injury.
Meanwhile, right-back Danilo also missed Cameroon's game and won over Switzerland due to ankle problems. Meanwhile, Alex Sandro suffered a hip injury at the start of the tournament.
