Robert Lewandowski Detailed The Contents Of The Conversation With Lionel Messi
JAKARTA - Robert Lewandowski finally detailed the contents of his conversation with Lionel Messi when Poland lost 0-2 to Argentina on Thursday.
During the match, Messi was reluctant to take office with Lewandowski after he was brought down by the former Bayern Munich striker.
However, at the end of the match the two players whispered. Messi himself did not want to reveal the contents of the conversation, but Lewandowski is now revealing what they two are talking about.
"We spoke a little bit and it was fun. I told Messi that he played more defensively than usual, but sometimes that's what the team needed," Lewandowski said.
Lewandowski, who currently plays for Barcelona, also doesn't think much about the incidents of violations he committed against his predecessor.
"[The incident] is very strange, yes: I was in the middle of the field to defend, but I knew I had to help the team," said the 34-year-old.
Lewandowski, who scored his first World Cup goal as he led Poland to win over Saudi Arabia, will prepare to take on France in the last 16 on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Messi will lead Argentina against Australia in the round of 16 early Sunday. Australia qualified with capital to beat Tunisia and Denmark.
