COVID-19 Update as of December 2: 4,179 New Cases, 6,001 Recoveries

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Handling Task Force released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 60,835 specimens were examined with the result that there were 4,179 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,674,000 people and active cases have decreased by 1,859 to 55,841 cases", quoted data from the COVID-19 Task Force, Friday, December 2.

Today's recovered cases increased by 6,001 people, bringing a total of 6,458,238 people recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 37 cases and a total of 159,921 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 1,644 cases and a total of 1,520,506 cases. Followed by West Java with 968 new cases with a total of 1,221,153 cases. Banten had 484 new cases and a total of 360,618 cases. East Java has 282 new cases and a total of 632,320 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 2,480 recovered cases. Followed by Banten with an additional 1,023 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 989 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 414 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 112,612,890.

"The positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 20.86 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases is recorded at 4,881 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.

To date, 203,708,513 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 174,260,097 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 66,938,549 people and the fourth dose was 885,659 people. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
