Heru Budi Removes Marullah from the DKI Regional Secretary Position, Now Becomes Deputy Governor
JAKARTA - Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono removed DKI Regional Secretary (Sekda) Marullah from his position. Now, Marullah's position has been shifted to Deputy Governor for Culture and Tourism.
This was confirmed by the Chairman of the DPRD DKI Jakarta, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi. Prasetyo said that Marullah was sworn in as Deputy Governor today at the DKI Jakarta City Hall.
According to Prasetyo, Heru Budi needs the position of Deputy Governor, especially in the field of tourism and culture which is currently vacant, to help him work and attend activities that conflict with other agendas.
"So the inauguration was carried out one of a kind because I feel sorry for the Governor himself. He is very busy. If he is unable to attend, the Deputy Governor can represent the Governor," said Prasetyo at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Friday, December 2.
Heru then appointed DKI Regional Secretariat Assistant for People's Welfare Uus Kuswanto as DKI Regional Secretary, until later there is a definitive filling of the DKI Regional Secretary position.
"Later there will be another new assessment for the definitive regional secretary," said Prasetyo.
However, Prasetyo admitted that he did not know the name of the candidate for DKI Regional Secretary who would later serve permanently. This is because the selection process for regional secretaries is the authority of the central government.
It's just that, Prasetyo estimates that the DKI Regional Secretary candidate who replaces Marullah will not come from the ASN ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
"The regional secretariat has been handled by the central government. Later, (the election process) will be open, it can't be closed. It seems (Marullah's replacement) is coming from the outside, not from within," he said.
It is known that Marullah was sworn in as DKI Regional Secretary after replacing former DKI Regional Secretary Saefullah who died of COVID-19 on January 18, 2021. Marullah was chosen as Regional Secretary by President Joko Widodo and defeated other candidates for Regional Secretary.
