Director General Of Oil And Gas Calls AI Can Accelerate Oil And Gas Development
JAKARTA - Director General of Oil and Gas, Tutuka Ariadji, said that the oil and gas industry has three characteristics, namely capital, technology-intensive and risk-intensive.
The discovery of this new technology is believed to accelerate the development of the oil and gas industry, including in Indonesia, which has quite promising gas potential.
"The government has indicated a number of gas sources from the western tip of Indonesia (Aceh, North Sumatra) to the eastern part of this country. There is great gas potential such as Andaman II, North Bali and Lombok, Masela, and IDD. So with that all, we hope that new technology can make this industry move faster," he said in Jakarta, Friday, December 2.
According to Tutuka, Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be one of the quick solutions to support the oil and gas industry, especially increasing the discovery of oil and gas data.
By using big data, we will have more opportunities to make better decisions in a shorter time. In addition, AI is also inclusive so it can be modified and Absorbed to other models. This is also an important thing. AI is a solution in the future," he added.
Regarding Indonesia's oil and gas data, continued Tutuka, the government is providing data utilization services, namely Migas Data Repository (MDR) through a membership and non-member system.
For members, they are entitled to all data access. On the other hand, non-members can only access on a limited basis.
"Industri, investors can view this data through membership and learn about it before communicating with our employees at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas and Oil and Gas SKK," he added.
On this occasion, Tutuka reiterated that the Government received input on policies or efforts made to increase the production of oil and gas in the country.
