"Santriwati For Victims Of Disappointment Mas Bechi Is Sentenced To 7 Years Old," He Said.

JAKARTA M, one of the female students victims of sexual harassment by Moch Subechi Azal Tsani (MSAT) alias Mas Bechi, confessed that he had been sexually assaulted since 2017.

M admitted that after daring to speak up about what happened to him, he was visited by a number of people and forced to apologize to the defendant, Bechi.

"They said that I said slander. But I told them, I did not slander. The incident that I experienced really happened," M told LPSK.

Atas kejadian itu, M merasa ketakutan lantaran sejumlah orang mencari dirinya. Karena takut, M pun terpaksa kabur dari kakot untuk mencari perlindungan.

"I was scared because they kept after me. At that time I ran away from the hut, I was looking for a shelter," he said.

After M received news that Mas Bechi was only sentenced to 7 years in prison, M felt that he did not get justice for the perpetrator's heinous behavior towards the victims.

"When I learned that the sentence was only seven years, I didn't think it was fair to us, for me and the victims. Because of how difficult it is, how difficult it is to reveal the truth and how difficult it is for us to demand justice. So they are all afraid of Bechi and his family," M.

During the legal process for almost 3 years, the victims were waiting for the verdict given by the judge to Mas Bechi. After the victims heard a 7-year verdict, the victim felt unfair but appreciated the judge's decision.

"I am grateful that Bechi is legally guilty, officially guilty. I hope that, by filing this appeal, hopefully it can add punishment for the defendant, and can provide a deterrent effect for the perpetrators, especially in educational places, especially in Islamic boarding schools," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the 7-year sentence handed down to Moch Subechi Azal Tsani (MSAT) alias Mas Bechi, the son of the Jombang kiai for the obscenity case against the female Islamic Boarding School student Shiddiqiya, was considered less than optimal.

The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) asked the Surabaya High Court to make a fair decision on the case of sexual violence.

LPSK Deputy Chairman Edwin Partogi said LPSK recommended that the High Court be able to decide fairly from the prosecutor's appeal against 7 years in prison, Mas Bechi.

"Recommend that the High Court can decide fairly from the prosecutor's appeal. We hope that the verdict against this sexual violence case can be a lesson. It can be a deterrent effect for the perpetrators and also a reminder for anyone that sexual violence is our common enemy and is strongly punished," Edwin told reporters, Friday, December 2.
