After Two Years Of Vakum, The PBSI National Championship Was Held Again

JAKARTA - PBSI will hold the National Championship on 12-17 December 2022 at the Cipayung National Training Center (Pelatnas), East Jakarta. This event was held again after two years of vacuum due to the corona virus pandemic.

This championship will compete in two categories and will be attended by a total of 628 athletes. The two categories that are competed are mixed teams of interclub adult groups and individual cadets (U-19).

For mixed teams of adult groups, the format will take place like the Sudirman Cup.

"The draw will be held on December 6 tomorrow. We hope that the participants will not decrease again at the time of the draw," said PP PBSI Director of Tournaments and Monitoring Mimi Irawan at a press conference at the National Training Center, Thursday, December 1.

Later, as many as 238 athletes from 21 clubs in the country will compete to be the best in the adult mixed team category between clubs.

Meanwhile, as many as 390 athletes from 26 provinces will compete in the category of cadets who compete in five numbers.

The total prize that will be contested in this National Championship is IDR 1.1 billion. With details for the team championship, a total prize of IDR 800 million is provided, while in individual cadets a total of IDR 300 million is provided.

"This is the biggest gift during the National Championships," said Chief Executive Committee Armand Darmadji.

Players who appear in the National Championship cannot play concurrently in two categories. This means that players who appear to defend the club in mixed adult team championships between associations cannot compete in junior individual groups.

In addition, PBSI Pelatnas athletes also did not get permission to compete in this competition, especially in adult team championships.
