The DKI Provincial Government Has Been ASKed To Make A Breakthrough To Take Benefit Of Mudness In Kerukan Results

JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government is asked to be able to take advantage of the dredging mud in rivers, lakes, ponds, reservoirs and reservoirs. The provincial government must also be open so far for what the mud is used for.

The request came from urban planning observer from Trisakti University, Nirwono Joga to Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.

Nirwono Joga suggested that this matter should be a concern, considering that the DKI Provincial Government under the leadership of Heru Budi also stated that it would intensify "sludge raids" activities in various regions.

"If the mud raid is optimized, large amounts of mud will be available. What you have to think about will be carried or accommodated where and used for what, for example, to backfill areas in need," said Nirwono in Jakarta, Thursday, December 1, quoted from Antara.

In addition, Nirwono also assessed that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government must start to be open and transparent in the dredging mud and its designation.

"So far, there has been no clarity about where the dredging results have been and for anything," he said.

Nevertheless, Nirwono assessed that Heru Budi's strategy to carry out mud raids was a good step that must be intensified by all parties, such as the Water Resources Service (SDA), rainbow troops, all levels of the DKI Provincial Government to the sub-district.

"The mud raid aims to facilitate the flow of water (rivers, waterways), increasing the capacity (rivers, waterways, ponds/dwells/reductions)," he said.

The mud raid itself, said Nirwono, would not be too effective if it was not supported by river improvements by widening, deepening, greening, being free of waste and prevented from sedimentation.

Then, he continued, it is also necessary to revitalize there/danau/mbung/support, expand Green Open Space (RTH) and conserve upstream protected forest rivers to enlarge water infiltration and reduce river sedimentation.

"Then rehabilitate the enlarged waterways the dimensions of the waterways and are free from networks of utilities that clog the canals, as well as restoration of coastal areas, including utilizing the mud from the dredging of the mud raids," he said.

Previously, Heru Budi Hartono stated that he would routinely carry out mud raids as an effort to control Jakarta's floods. Flood control itself, is one of the priority programs of the DKI Provincial Government in 2023.

"Regular handling of dredging is routinely a mud raid, so yesterday I went to several areas, all of which had to go down to the infrastructure that the local government had to prevent flooding," said Heru, Tuesday (29/11).
