Wow! The Indonesian Contingent Has The Potential To Lose 37 Gold Medals At The 2023 SEA Games, This Is The Reason
JAKARTA - The Indonesian contingent has the potential to lose 37 gold medals at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. This potential was explained by a team of experts when meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Zainudin Amali, Wednesday, November 30 at the Kemenpora office.
The expert team chaired by Asmawi explained that the potential reduction in Indonesia's contingent medals compared to the 2021 SEA Games was due to several sports being competed in Vietnam, but not being held in Cambodia.
"Our opportunity to face the Cambodian SEA Games next year really needs hard work, because we will lose 37 gold medals from several unmatched sports," said a member of the expert team, Del Asri, as reported by the official website of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Thursday, December 1.
The expert team also opened the data in front of the Menpora. The sports that will not be competed in Cambodia will include archery, kayaks, rowings, shootings, FIREs, and chess.
Meanwhile, there were several numbers from a number of sports competed, which were also deleted. Among them are the Free Fire (E-Sport) and Women's Bike Downhill numbers and Individual Time Trials.
The Minister of Youth and Sports admitted that the Indonesian contingent had to work hard to make Indonesia proud at the 2023 SEA Games. He also asked for a report regarding the latest developments related to the preparation of Indonesian athletes.
"I want to know the latest developments regarding Indonesia's preparations for the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia," said the Menpora.
The head of the expert team, Asmawi, then revealed several sports that had started conducting national training camps (pelatnas). In fact, swimming and athletics have already conducted trials.
"Renang sudah uji coba dan hasilnya bagus. Itu adalah atlet muda kita yang bisa jadi mainan untuk mendapatkan medali di SEA Games 2023 Cambodia," paparnya kepada Menpora.
