Residents Of Sukoharjo Please Orderly Traffic, Police Already Install 11 ETLE Cameras Monitoring Violations

SUKOHARJO - Sukoharjo Police, Central Java, officially operates the Traffic Management Center (TMC) space using 11 static electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE) cameras."The Boyolali Police Traffic Unit now has new facilities, namely TMC to monitor traffic conditions in this area," said Sukoharjo Police Chief AKBP Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan at the inauguration of TMC Satlantas at the Sukoharjo Police Station, Antara, Tuesday, November 29.Wahyu said that in the Sukoharjo area, there are 11 stationary ETLE camera points installed along the road, starting from Kartasura to the route to Wonogiri. With the existence of a static ETLE, he continued, each violator will be caught on camera and then recorded and entered the system."Outside of the static camera, there are still mobile ETLE cameras that always patrol to record any traffic violations on the road," Wahyu added. However, the existence of the ETLE has an impact on increasing public awareness in traffic order. In accordance with the policy of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, no officers have been ticketing manually since the National Police implemented ETLE."In such conditions, people think they are safe on the highway because no officers have ticketed; even though those who commit violations have been caught on the ETLE camera," Wahyu explained.Once entered the system, he continued, data on traffic violators would later be recorded and officers sent evidence of violations to withdraw fines through BRIVA."If it turns out that it has violated and does not fulfill the obligation to pay a fine, later when it is taxed, the fines will be accumulated. In addition, data blocking of violators' vehicles can also be blocked," he said.He hopes that the discipline of the community towards traffic will increase even though no officers make manual tickets. Users of Brong exhaust, illegal racing, and other violations will still be dealt with manually without using ETLE."Because of that, it is categorized as disturbing the community," said Wahyu.
