Tesla Pulls More THAN 80,000 EVs Due To Software And Safety Belt Issues
JAKARTA - Elon Musk's electric car manufacturer, Tesla has recalled more than 80,000 electric cars in China, due to software and seat belts.
Of the 80,000 cars belonging to Tesla that were recalled, there were 67,698 Model S and Model X imported to China around September 25, 2013 and November 21, 2020. Then, there were also 2,736 Tesla 3 model cars imported to China with the production year January and November 2019.
While the rest, as many as 10,127 other Tesla cars are production cars from the Tesla factory in China which are produced between October 15, 2019 and September 26, 2022.
In a statement by China's market regulator received by Reuters on Friday, November 25, it was revealed that the withdrawal was due to a software problem affecting the vehicle battery management system.
This is not the first recall Tesla made. Last week, the American-based plant recalled more than 321,000 vehicles in the United States as the back lights sometimes don't turn on.
The news follows Tesla's recall on Friday 18 November over nearly 30,000 Model X cars in the United States due to problems that could cause front passenger air bags to not be installed properly. This recall decision has left Tesla Inc. shares down nearly 3% to their lowest level over the past two years.
Mundur lagi ke belakang, pada bulan April, Tesla telah menarik total 127.785 unit mobil Model 3 di China, mengutip potensi kesalahan pada komponen semiconductor yang dapat menyebabkan kontraksi.
