"Apri/Fadia Invited To Appear In The World Tour Finals 2022," They Say

JAKARTA - Women's doubles pair Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti received an invitation to appear at the 2022 World Tour Finals which will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, 7-11 December.

This assurance was conveyed by PBSI in a statement sent to the media on Tuesday, November 29. Previously, the pair who won the 2021 SEA Games gold medal was only on the first waiting list.

"First, I'm grateful that we can play in the World Tour Finals. This is the first time we both play there even though I've had several times with Kak Greys (Greysia Polii) but now our first experience," said Apri in his statement.

Apri/Fadia will certainly be able to appear in the closing competition of the season after one of the women's doubles who escaped chose to withdraw. Therefore, Apri/Fadia who is on the first waiting list will automatically replace the pair in question.

"I didn't expect it and it felt good. Yesterday, I really wanted to play in the WTF, only the points weren't enough. But it turns out that there is a way, so we want to take advantage of this opportunity and can't be wasted," said Fadia.

With the presence of Apri/Fadia at the BWF World Tour Finals 2022, Indonesia made history by passing representatives in all sectors.

Previously, the Red-White squad was represented by Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung's singles, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto's men's doubles, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, and and mixed doubles Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.
