Police Arrest 2 Teenage Kidnappers With Debt Motivation In Kemayoran

JAKARTA - The Matraman Sector Police, East Jakarta arrested two of the six kidnappers accompanied by violence experienced by two teenagers in Kemayoran, Jakarta.

"Around 03.30 WIB there were parents with a group of about eight children. They said their children were kidnapped from the Scout area. We immediately chased them," said Kapolsek Matraman, Kompol Tedjo Asmoro, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, December 15.

Two suspects named M Zikri (21) and Bagas (19) were reportedly involved in the kidnapping and violence against victims named Roni Ferdyansyah (16) and Putra Permana (16).

Tedjo revealed that this case was related to debts involving the victim and the perpetrator. The gang initially kidnapped the victim while crossing the Pramuka area, East Jakarta.

"The kidnapper asked for ransom and the victim was hacked and reported to his father," he said

According to Tedjo, the victim was detained in the Central Jakarta area, but one of the victims, Putra Permana, managed to escape and submitted a report to the police.

However, another victim Roni suffered a stab wound on the left arm while trying to escape.

According to Tedjo, the victim and the perpetrator group knew each other. The perpetrator on behalf of M Zikri is known to work as a debt collector.

After receiving the complaint from the victim and his family, the Matraman police officers managed to arrest two of the six stabbing perpetrators.

Currently, the Matraman sector police are still carrying out further investigations to determine the motive for the kidnapping along with the assault. Apart from that, the other four perpetrators are still in the process of pursuing the authorities.

The police confiscated a number of criminal evidence from the two arrested suspects in the form of a sickle, a cellphone, and a Honda Vario motorbike bearing police number B 3445 TEW.
