Crypto Exchange Bitget Expansion To Africa, Will Recruit Hundreds Of Employees
JAKARTA - In the midst of the bear market's sustainability in recent months, crypto trading company Bitget has reportedly expanded to the African continent.
Bitget's move goes against crypto companies in general who carry out mass layoffs during the bearish market like Coinbase did a few months ago which cut about 18 percent of its total employees.
Bitget actually spread its wings and plans to open employee recruitment on a large scale. This is intended to improve the Bitget service itself. On November 25, Bitget announced it was registered in the Seychelles archipelago, Africa. Later the Seychelles will play a role in facilitating Bitget's global expansion.
According to The Cryptoisme report, Bitget intends to increase its workforce by 50 percent from 800 employees to 1,200 employees in the first quarter of 2023. Not only that, but the company also plans to recruit various other professionals including engineers and marketing teams to improve user experience.
Through the Seychelles, Bitget will set up more regional hubs in the next few years. Previously, the company already had regional centers in Asia and Latin America. Now Bitget is trying to spread its wings to expand into a wider market, African and European continents. Bitget calls both strategic markets.
Bitget entry into the Seychelles is not without reason. The company explained that the islands in Africa are under the 2016 International Business Company Act and will strengthen platform and banking relations.
Previously, the Bitget crypto exchange company had collaborated with Argentine soccer star Lionel Messi. They also formed a partnership with the Italian Seri A football giant, Juventus.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said that the registration of the Seychelles under the 2016 International Business Company Act would strengthen the banking relationship of the platform. Exchanges have established meaningful partnerships with sports stars such as Lionel Messi and football teams like Juventus.
"We see the Seychelles as a friendly region for the crypto community. We have worked for several months for this registration and are pleased to announce its development now," said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget.
"Registration at the Seychelles offers a constructive environment for Bitget, enabling us to open collaborations with partners and strengthen banking relations, along with our expansion with different partnerships, such as Argentine football legend Lionel Messi and Italian football club Juventus," he added.
Furthermore, the Bitget boss revealed that his company will continue to create jobs even though the crypto market is in the bear market phase. Chen noted that his party needed talented personnel to help the company grow and make Bitget a safe and reliable crypto trading platform in competitive industries.
