Next Week, Bareskrim Meets The KPK Bahas AKBP Bambang Kayun

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will hold a meeting to discuss the alleged corruption case involving AKBP Bambang Kayun. The plan, the meeting will be held next week.

"It is planned that there will be a meeting with the KPK Korsup next week on Tuesday," said Deputy Director of Corruption Crime Kombes Arief Adiharsa to VOI, Saturday, November 26.

The meeting discussed more the process of delegating the handling of cases involving Bambang Kayun. Originally, Bareskrim wanted the case he had handled to be investigated by the KPK.

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, on the previous occasion said that the purpose of the delegation was to make the handling of the alleged gratification case more transparent.

"The consideration is in the context of transparency in the investigation of cases with the same object," said Dedi.

AKBP Bambang Kayun was named a suspect by the KPK. He is suspected of receiving money and vehicles after dealing with falsification of letters in the fight for the rights of the heirs of PT Aria Citra Mulia at the National Police Headquarters. The head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri, did not specify how much money Bambang received. The anti-corruption commission only stated that evidence would still be sought, including by examining witnesses.

Ali said, his institution would be transparent in investigating the alleged bribery and gratification. "KPK will be open to conveying every development of this case to the public and hope for support from all parties to bring this case to the trial stage," said Ali.
