Gareth Bale Asks Teachers In Wales To Allow School Children To Watch Iranian Opposite Games
JAKARTA - The captain of the Wales national team, Gareth Bale, asked his country's teachers to allow school children to watch their matches. As is known, the Wales national team will face Iran in the second match of the Qatar 2022 World Cup Group B preliminary.
The match will take place at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium on Friday, November 25, 10 am Wales time. When the match took place, the children were still in class.
"If I were one of the teachers, I would let them watch the game," Bale said as quoted by The Independent, Friday, November 25, 2022.
Earlier this month, the Press Association news agency revealed that children had been given the green light to support Robert Page.
Meanwhile, the Wales government has handed over to each school to make its own decisions whether to allow children to watch the game or not.
"I hope they do. This is a historic moment in Wales. For us to be in the World Cup," Bale said.
"Some of the parents of the children I know all want to watch the game but don't want to send them home from school," he added.
Bale will make his history as a footballer with the most appearances for his country against Iran.
The match against Iran will be the 110th appearance for the 33-year-old captain, who made his debut in 2006 and is Wales' top scorer (41 goals).
Wales previously only brought home one point when they met the United States in the inaugural match. At that time the two teams only drew with the same score 1-1.
