The film Check Shop Next door airs in 2016 and the second film will be screened six years later, but the background story in the sequel is only a month from the end of the first film.
This film still tells the relationship between Erwin (Ernest Prakasa) and Yohan (Dion Wiyoko) and their father, Koh Afuk (Chew Kinwah).
Koh Afuk's family life is different after he no longer owns a shop. However, Erwin had to win the heart of Agnes (Maya Hasan), the mother of her lover, Natalie (Laura Basuki). Erwin had many considerations and put his relationship with Natalie on the brink.
Laura clearly states that she usually doesn't include past experiences or looks for similarities between her personality and the characters she plays. It also applies to Natalie's character in this film.
However, actually there are still a few similarities between Natalie and Laura. "Has parents questioned the boyfriend, Mama asked 'do you want to be with him?'," Laura joked.
