Update On COVID-19 As Of December 14: New Cases Of 5,489, Healing, Increasing 5,121

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 42,006 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5,489 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 623,309 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Monday, December 14.

Today's cases increased by 5,121, so that a total of 510,957 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 137 people and a total of 18,956 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,506 new cases and a total of 154,005 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by Central Java, which has 979 new cases with a total of 67,496 cases. East Java has 713 new cases and a total of 70,634 cases. Then, West Java has 600 new cases and a total of 66,810 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 1,472 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 975 recovered cases, West Java with an increase of 853 recovered cases, and East Java with an increase of 530 recovered cases.

Then, there are 2 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are Jambi and Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 6,424,385. In detail, as many as 6,313,119 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 111,266 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 64,067 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
