President.go.id's Website Can't Be Accessed, Primary: Don't Pay Domain

JAKARTA - The official website of the President of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) with the address president.go.id cannot be accessed from Wednesday night at 19.15 WIB. This time it was not because of the actions of the famous hacker Bjorka.

According to VOI monitoring, until 07.00 WIB, the site has not yet been accessible. Cybersecurity expert Pratama Persadha stated that the reason the site could not be accessed was not because it was hacked, but had not paid the domain. This can be seen from the information when he tried to open the official presidential website.

"Of course this is a very embarrassing thing and should not happen. An official website of the president that should be monitored, checked and carried out maintenance or posted until he forgot to extend his domain subscription," said Pratama in an official statement quoted on Thursday, November 24.

Pratama said that in this case the responsible person is the sosol admin of the website holder.

"Certainly it is an admin, so that the palace will explain in more detail. However, this incident explains to the public how cyber issues are, both in terms of security and maintenance, are still far from ideal," said Pratama.

"Moreover, this is the presidential website, maybe periodic checks are rarely carried out, until the admin does not know the domain has expired or expired," he added.

According to Pratama, of course this is not a matter of domain price that shouldn't be much. He considers, this is a serious problem because the site is a digital asset of this country.

"Just imagine that due to lack of checking, the site will be hacked and posted by hackers of various inappropriate things, of course it will invite further polemics," said Pratama.

"So that problems like this don't happen again, it is necessary for the state secretariat and the presidential team to inventory any digital assets owned by the President and Vice President. After being collected, check, regarding when to pay the domain. In addition, check who the admins and email are used, this is related to securing digital assets owned, so it's not only websites but also social media," he continued.

Finally, Pratama asked to always pay attention to digital assets by having the priority of the presidential team and the state secretariat. If there is an illegal act or there is hacking of the digital assets of the President and Vice President, it will clearly cause a polemic of chaos in the community.

"Of course some of us will be wondering, if the matter of payment of my domain can be missed, then what about cybersecurity?", concluded Pratama.
