Guardiola Said After The Contract Extension At Manchester City Until 2025: I Am Happy And Comfortable Here
JAKARTA - Josep Guardiola agreed to sign a two-year contract extension until 2025 with Manchester City.
The main reason the coach is willing to extend his tenure with The Citizens is a sense of comfort. In addition, a supportive work environment makes Guardiola even harder to sit in the coach seat.
"I'm very happy to be staying at Manchester City for another two years," Guardiola opened after signing a new contract, quoted from Manchester City's official website, Wednesday, November 23.
"I can't quite thank everyone at the club for trusting me. I'm happy and comfortable here. I have everything I need to do my job as best I can," he continued.
In addition to that reason, Guardiola stated that the stable team's situation continued to facilitate its work. From that side, Guardiola also dared to predict that this team would shine in the future.
With City's confidence and drive, Guardiola decided to stay afloat in order to achieve even more achievements with The Citizens.
I know the next chapter of this club will be amazing for the next decade. It happened over the last ten years and it will happen in the next ten years because the club is very stable," he said.
"I feel there is still something else we can achieve together and that's why I want to survive and keep fighting to win trophies," explained Guardiola.
With his contract being extended again, it made Guardiola the Premier League with his second longest term of service. The record only lags behind Jurgen Klopp's score at Liverpool.
The 51-year-old coach joined Manchester City in 2016 after three years in charge of Bayern Munich. At his old club, Guardiola managed to present three Bundesliga titles and two DFB-Pokalelats.
When he decided to join England with Manchester City, Guardiola's achievements got crazier. He has presented four Premier League titles, one FA Cup, four Carabao Cups and two Community Shield titles.
