JAKARTA - Cristiano Ronaldo conveyed a farewell message after he and Manchester United (MU) separated. The cooperation between the two officially ended after United made a statement on their official website on Wednesday, November 23 in the morning WIB.
Ronaldo actually still has a contract with the Red Devils until the summer of 2023. However, the sooner separation follows his controversial interview with Piers Morgan recently that made the situation with the club heat up.
Quoted from The Sun, after officially separating from MU on a mutual agreement, Ronaldo appeared to respond to the current situation. The star said that he really loved the club and its fans so much.
"After talks with Manchester United, we agreed to terminate our contract," Ronaldo opened, quoted from The Sun, Wednesday, November 23.
"I love Manchester United and I love the fans, it will never change," continued the star.
After expressing love for the club and its supporters, Ronaldo still admits that this situation is the best for both parties. Nevertheless, he still gave his former club the best hope.
"It feels like a good time to find a new challenge. I wish Man Utd all the best," said Ronaldo.
In an official statement issued by Manchester United, the club also expressed appreciation for the cooperation and all the contributions that have been made by Ronaldo.
"The club thanked him for his outstanding contribution over two terms at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishing him all the best for the future of him and his family," MU said in a statement.
"Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the progress of the team under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch." This was a statement from Man United.
