Kominfo Supports Education Content And Dissemination Of Information On The 2024 General Election

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Utilization of Information Services in the Implementation of Elections and Elections for Governors and Deputy Governors, Regents and Deputy Regents, and/or Mayors and Deputy Mayors in 2024

Based on the agreement, Kominfo will provide support for the development of public educational content and dissemination of information about the General Election and the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Election.

According to the Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate, information dissemination will go well with strong collaboration and close cooperation from various parties.

"Communication is good and the content that will be transmitted is carried out responsibly and in line with the law. Don't let us be busy later repairing inappropriate information transmissions, less timely relevant," Johnny said in his release, quoted Wednesday, November 23.

Furthermore, the Minister of Communication and Information stated that the quality and success of the General Election by the organizers or persons in charge was determined by the organizers.

"In this case, the General Election Committee is the General Election Commission of the Republic of Indonesia, not the government," he said.

However, Minister Johnny stated that it was the government's duty to support the General Election Commission as the organizer of the 2024 Simultaneous Elections and Pilkada.

As planned, the election will be held on February 14, 2024 to elect the President and Vice President, members of the Indonesian House of Representatives, the Indonesian Regional Representative Council, and the Provincial and Regency/City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD).

Meanwhile, the Pilkada will be held on November 27 in the same year, in order to elect governors and deputy governors, regents and deputy regents, as well as mayors and deputy mayors throughout Indonesia.

The Minister of Communication and Information explained that he would give full support so that the holding of general elections as mandated by our constitution, by law, and the expectations of the Indonesian people.
