Jokowi: The Prosecutor's Office Is The Key Actor In Resolving Past Human Rights Violations
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reminded the Indonesian Prosecutor's Office to play an important role in solving cases of gross human rights violations (HAM) in the past. So that he asked, the commitment to solve this problem must be continued.
"The commitment to resolve past human rights issues must be continued. The AGO is a key actor in resolving past human rights violations," said Jokowi when he opened the Prosecutor's Meeting which was held online and broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Monday, December 14.
On this occasion, the former governor of DKI Jakarta asked the prosecutor's office to show progress in the process of resolving cases of past human rights violations.
Then, he also asked the Adhyaksa Corps to continue to streamline cooperation with other parties, including the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM).
"Cooperation with related parties, especially with Komnas HAM, needs to be streamlined. Anticipation of future challenges must also be improved," said Jokowi.
Furthermore, he also asked the prosecution to play a role in preventing various possible crimes, from terrorism crimes to human trafficking.
"The AGO must be part of preventing and preventing crimes against state security, such as terrorism, money laundering and human trafficking, as well as other crimes that have an impact on the country's economy," he said.
